Recap since the last post.

A lot of things have changed in EvE.

I've moved systems to one with a station I can get higher than 6.0 effective standing with.
A few more ships are accessible to me, including a second character with heavy assault ships.
I've got perfect refine with several new corporations.
I've been doing Level 4 missions for Sisters of Eve which can turn scordite into a LOT of money.
My current peak sunday mining yield is over 3 million m³
I've been going for the past three weeks getting at least one skill a day on at least one character. Trying to see how long I can carry it, and it looks like it might be a while.
My corp is now in an alliance. WEEE.

All kinds of good stuff.

How I'm going to handle mining over the next little while.

With a bit of breathing room for my next plex purchase, I'm going to be mining every day and waiting a couple of days minimum before I haul to market. With the ability to haul over 2.4 million m³ per load, I have no problem just going nuts mining for a week or two solid and hauling on one dedicated day.

Going to skip mining on Friday and try some level 4 missions on my own. Going to need to bring everyone along for that ride. Have Blake helping with salvaging.

Tomorrow's bank run comes first though. No point in doing all this when the bills aren't paid yet.

Lots of messy stuff.

Mining Today
Missions tomorrow.

Capital ship construction starts having access next week.
And I've got to figure out stuff to catch the skill queue with.

Yay.

Working on some random stuff in EvE.

Like improved production efficiency and other crap like that.

Also working on the ability to build capital ship components. I'll probably have 2 accounts able to build cap components in about 2 weeks.

FUN.

Now up to 4.2 million m³ to haul.

And I'm not going to haul even a single m³ of it until at LEAST Friday, possibly later (enough later to be hauling over 10 million m³ of ore at once.

Accursed need for freighters. It gets annoying sometimes. I'm not sure if I'm going to buy the fourth freighter first or the second orca first. Decisions decisions.

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

I've got 2.8 million m³ of ore to haul.

The station vault can hold 10 million. I'm probably going to try to fill it before I haul. The ice that I harvested the other week is going to be counted.

Having 3 freighters is fun. Having 4 is going to be nutty. I think I need to train the navigation category skills up on all of my characters.

An effective mining yield of almost 6000m³/minute is fun.

Interesting things going on (sort of)

First. Mining in EvE. Usual sundays get me over 1.6mil m³ of ore no problem. Market prices are screwy enough to have it matter. I'm probably going to move down an old hauling route to make my way to more ore.
I have tomorrow off, so that's another big chunk of mining.
Second. Almost have the skills for a FOURTH freighter. Yes, I've been busy.
Third. I've been looking into a research-fit station to handle material and time research on the blueprints I have. It ends up meaning I waste less materials, and as such make more money.
Fourth. Matt is VERY ready for level 3 missions. It's going to be nice to play that, get him standing so that the corp's faction standings start getting up.

Ice harvesting numbers.

I just went over all the affecting skills and equipment for ice harvesting in eve, and discovered that I'm maxed out for yield.

The only bonuses I have left come from outside sources like foreman links. On Phil, I'm maxed out.

Kinda scary actually.

Research progress.

I've just gone over another one of my blueprints to see what kind of an effect the production efficiency research has done to it.

Shaving 8 hours off of a full production run is nothing to sneeze at.

People ignore the time research because they don't care or don't realize that there's this much of an effect.

The faster you get your stuff made, the faster you can sell it.

Production and mining, and how research helps.

Well, lately I've been researching the production time efficiency of some of my blueprints to basically get a higher turnover on my production. Right now I've got several blueprints where the research has shaved FIVE HOURS per complete run off of the total production time.

That's fugging huge.

Five hours faster turnaround is five hours more I can use producing more items. It's also five hours worth of installation rental I don't have to pay on inefficient production.

One of the skills I'm working on is production efficiency, so that less of the materials I harvest or buy get wasted. Higher profit there.

Of insane hauling capacity.

I've been throwing the idea of having a second orca for hauling in eve. I already have one for bonuses. This second one is only going to need to worry about cargohold and tractor beams.

Considering the cargohold totals, I'm seriously thinking about going through with it, even though it'll take 3 months for the skills.

Things I've noticed about EvE.

A few things I've noticed:
1> Trying to get effective standings to improve with an agent when your faction standings start at almost 6.0 takes a while, even with level 3 missions.
2> Assault Cruisers just plain munch level 3 missions, especially against their resist-heavy damage types.
3> The Ishtar can probably passive shield tank a few of the lighter level 3 missions.
4> I want access to more ships and equipment.
5> Scanner probe and probe launcher production is a massive profit venture (especially with mining and mission drop reprocessing providing the necessary resources).

Experiments in EvE.

Yesterday, I gave the whole probe scanning thing a whirl in eve.

Found the same mining site like 3 times in one go.

I'm now focusing on covert ops frigates to improve the effectiveness of my scanning so I can get more accurate results in fewer scans. Fun times.

Of mining and other profit.

Ok, EvE has been extra fun lately. I've been mining about 600k m³ of ore a day since Tuesday. That totals out to over 2mil m³ over the first four days. With the scale I mine at, each hundred thousand cube adds up to about 10 million ISK. I've basically been mining over 60mil a day this week.

I've got eleven days to go to get my PLEX for the two accounts, and I've got a 200mil head start. Each PLEX is 300mil. I think I can get them paid off this week, which gives me a whole week of play time that I can spend doing other junk or paying for new toys.

Phil's going down towards Marauder class ships with a side trip to heavy assaults.
Dale's going towards logistics then an orca (bigger cargo for mining binges)
Matt's focusing on mining for a bit longer.
Blake's working on maxing out his mining foreman junk.

YAY.

Because titles suck.

And Hulks rule.

Matt really gets to test his Hulk hardcore today. I get to take him and mine out a few belts completely alongside Phil at about twice the speed he was mining last week.

Once the server comes up, I'm going to fit him for mining yield and get started devouring belts like I do every Sunday.

Might even pay for his plex today.

Of Plans, Queues and Other EvE Nuttiness.

Ok, rundown.

Corporation is all set up. We even have offices for item exchange.

Matt gets his Hulk on Monday. That will double his mining yield straight up. From there, the first skill he's going for is Scordite Processing 4. Need to use those specialty crystals QUICKLY. After that, it's all mining yield related skills. Mining Upgrades will probably be the first skill after Scordite Processing.

Blake is going through annoyingly long skills to improve mining yield by 0.7-2.0% at a time. Those are going to be extra obnoxious until I get him access to +4 or higher implants (4 days for the +4 and another 18 after that for +5 probably going to skip the +5).

Dale is about a week away from being able to fly an Obelisk. Not sure if I want to buy him one now or just save up for one later. Freighter Level 3 is likely going to be the minimum for him.

Phil has absolutely no real target anymore. With the Corporation set up the way it is, he has no role that needs to be filled, so he's just going to be working on random certificate plans like Armor Tanking.

When the skill queuing system comes in, a lot of these plans are going to be so much easier to manage it's not funny. Some of the skill batches will have 7-8 skills taking less than a couple of hours, requiring skill juggling that would be tedious without the queue. Shame it won't be in place until March.

Matt's mining plan will definitely take him well past the release of the next expansion (and hopefully the release of the skill queue) so most of the little skills will get trained with minimal intervention from me. But that will be the case with all of my characters.

At least mining yield is going to be up along the way.

Foreman links.

Blake has his mining foreman links now and is working on skills and equipment to make them more effective.

Warfare Link Specialist
Mining Director
Industrial Command Ships

Mining Foreman Mindlink.

Good fun for more mining yield.

I'm an uncle.

Joshua Stewart Anderson

Born Feb 1, 2009 in the afternoon (3ish).

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

So close.

Blake gets the final skill to get his orca in the morning. By the time I get to actually use the orca, Blake will have level 2 industrial command ships. Yay for more cargohold.
Less problems for the staging area if it has a larger cargohold to buffer with if it lags behind. It'll also mean for quicker handling of mission belts and their related ores.
Still need to train the last level of leadership to get the mining foreman links and start in on skills like the warfare link specialist (to help improve the effectiveness of the warfare links.

Dale has started sorting out the corporation. Got a set of roles set up for the jita alts already. Need to get him sorted out with ethnic relations to get a few of the other alts sorted out.

Not sure where Matt and Phil are going to land through all of this, but once I figure that out, we can really get working on hardcore stuff.

40k m³ shared cargohold + 38k m³ hauler + 70k m³ spare cargohold = LOTS of staging area during a mining operation. 70km tractor beam range is also helpful in those pesky mission belts.

Alrighty, The plan for this week.

First up. Blake gets into his Orca this Wednesday. I'm going to have the skillbook waiting for him down in Jita before he actually needs to be in the ship. Probably set that up Tuesday morning.
Second. Phil is going to be training for the assault ship class frigates. One of the two skills he needs will finish Wednesday. The next one he needs will get till the 7th of Feb.
Third. Matt's skills set him up so that he's not even looking at anything new till the 8th.
Fourth (and finally). Dale gets his level 4 salvaging on Thursday. After that, he gets into skills relating to support for the ship, including capacitor capacity and recharge as well as anchoring (for containers to expand his cargohold) and some other support skills for his ship (including stuff all the way up to microwarpdrives). Dale has a lot of conflicts in his plan, so salvaging 5 will be mixed in to get the gap time until I have other long skills to train.

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Getting there on skills and such.

Phil's mining skills are about maxed. Working on hauling, combat and missions.
Blake's almost at his orca. After that it's support skills.
Dale is in his itty v. Again, support skills (tractor beam and salvaging primarily).
Matt is still working towards his hulk. It'll be a couple weeks.

Sunday, January 18, 2009

Phil has maxed another set of related skills.

Phil's combined skills have gotten him to 291 second ice harvester cycle times on his own.

He doesn't even have a Yeti BX-2 implant yet (which would take the cycles down to around 274 seconds).

Dale gets his Iteron Mark V effective late Tuesday.

We also just had a jettison container go unmolested by pirates for 2 full hours give or take about 5 minutes. Lost 2 units of ice.

It has been a fun few days.

Wednesday, January 07, 2009

I'm basically done with WoW for a while.

I've just canceled the auto-renew on my WoW account. I've pretty much stopped playing entirely.

Good going Blizz. You basically got the last of me when you got WotLK. Your railroading shoved me right into a mountainside.

Tuesday, January 06, 2009

Phil's getting the skills for a freighter tomorrow.

Even if he is over 300 million ISK short of getting in one, he'll be able to pilot it tomorrow afternoon.

Feel free to send any spare isk in eve to Philip Richardson. It won't be turned away.

Sunday, January 04, 2009
