And now I'm 60. Good fun for another toon.

Alenrak got 60 today, and maxed his herbalism.

With just the gear from the quests I've done so far, his bonus spell damage is over 200. Some of the gear is crafted, some of it isn't. I have a couple pieces lined up for future levels that adds set bonuses for me.

Once I burn through the quests I have lined up for me from this leveling guide, I should end up pretty close to 70, if not actually HAVE 70 because of rested bonus and other little quirks.

From there, it's back to PvP to get gear for him.

Bleh. I will HATE not feeling like getting progress, but I can have him 70 by Christmas no problem.

Getting Alenrak to 60.

I've basically decided to get as close to 60 as possible on Alenrak before I take him to outlands.

I'll just burn off the quests that I have on him over the next day or so and make sure I at least get TO 60 before I actually take the walk through the portal. The walkthrough guide I have for 1-70 recommends being at least level 60 when you start in on the outlands quests. I'm going to follow it.

All I really need to do is complete all the quests I have in my log right now and then I'm done getting to 60. After that, it's a turbo run to 70. Completing the quests in blackrock depths is going to be interesting, considering the build on Alenrak right now.

One way or another, level 60 isn't that far off for me. I'll worry about the PVP bracket farming later. 1.5 levels isn't that hard with the new quest experience reward totals.

Another one with genuine outlands access.

Last night I got Alenrak to 58. I haven't taken him through the outlands introduction quests yet, because I want to follow this leveling guide I have as closely as possible. Level 60 is kinda a safe bet to get the power leveling going.

I've been leveling a bit off and on with my friend trying to get both toons to outlands. It gets tedious, but we are able to take on higher level quests than we could alone.

I'm not sure if I should pvp bracket farm or just level to 70 and be done with it. The choice isn't that easy to make right now. One thing's for sure. I'm going to get at least SOME Alterac Valley done today on him. I need 50 AV marks and it's AV weekend.

Inching closer to outlands ready.

Alenrak is almost able to get to outlands. He has gotten 6 levels in the past 4 days. He started the week at 51. He's now 57, with 5 bars into the level (it's about 25%, 5% per bar). With the new quest reward rates from 2.3 (upwards of 12k experience per quest) I suspect that I'll have 58 (and the outlands access that comes with it) by Saturday.

Once I have outlands access AND get some of my requisite PVP bracket farming done, I'm going to start following this leveling guide that I have and power level to 70.

Tier 4 drop, woot.

My main hunter took part in a massive turbo kara run tonight. We steamrolled through: Attunmen, Moroes, Maiden, Opera, Curator, and Shade before I left.

The crossbow dropped off of attunmen, the opera dropped the beastmaul pauldrons, and the curator dropped the T4 Hunter/lock/Mage glove piece.

Shame they're a downgrade from Merciless Gladiator for my build.

Oh well, keeping them anyway.

Plans for the second hunter.

I'm looking into building my second hunter as a beast master sub marksman.

The build I'm probably going to go for on her. 41/20/0 Beast Master.

She's going to be using a cat a lot and turtle only a little bit. Most of her gear will likely come from PVP when she gets to 70.

2 toons to get gear from PVP. It's going to be interesting to say the least. 220k honor for 2 toons isn't a quick process.

For those who don't know, the build I'm going for with Alenrak.

Balance, sub restoration

It'll be particularly fun to deal with once I'm 70.

I'll probably be kicking around the 50-59 bracket when arena season 3 comes out, although I'm not sure.

What should be my objective for arena s3 day?

I'm trying to decide between having my objective for Alenrak be getting to 70 by arena season 3 release or just go for 59.

Getting 59 gets me access to Alterac valley (which gives me the option of that daily quest for more bonus honor every time it comes up) but getting to 70 gets me a pile of new gear, complete battleground access, and my flying form.

Honestly, until I have enough honor and marks to get the core of the PVP set, I'm probably going to pace myself. There's a 75,000 honor cap currently. I can get the entire core set of gear (gloves, shoulders, leggings, helm, chestpiece) with that assuming I have the marks necessary to do so. The total honor needed to get the core 5 pieces is 65,250. After that I need another 47,494 for the boots, bracers and belt. After looking at the price breakdown for the gear, you can quickly see how 220k honor can get spent JUST on gear.

Fun thing is, I need a second one of those mainhand weapons, which adds another 25,200 honor and 20 Eye of the Storm marks to the total.

Just for the record, all pvp armor costs the same. Not all weapons cost the same.

Arena Season 3 is delayed.

Which means that the conversion of arena season 1 gear from arena points to honor is delayed, and the release of the new vindicator's pieces is delayed.

The upside is that there's more time to prepare for them coming out. Including more time to get my druid to 70 (he's 50 now)

Yay for patch day.

Ok 2.3 is now live and I have one thing to say.

GET THE SERVERS UP ALREADY.

They delayed the final server load with 2.3 until 6pm my time (planned time for up was 3pm). It's driving me and all the people who play in the same battlegroup batty.

88th post and what do I have to show for it?

Not much.

Alenrak only has 8 of the 110 Arathi marks he needs to get his gear set. He doesn't have enough honor for even one piece, and there's a patch coming out that will turbo him to 60ish.

Gonna be one of those I guess.

At least I have the materials for the 24 slot quiver for my hunter.

Honor farming and bracketing.

I have a multitude of options on Alenrak for honor farming right now.

  1. Continue bracketing at 49
  2. Powerlevel (and powergear) to 59 and bracket there (gives me access to Alterac Valley)
  3. Powerlevel (and powergear) to 69 and bracket there (gives me access to Alterac Valley and Eye of the Storm)
  4. Max out to 70 and grind the honor and marks there (which gives me a massive gear disadvantage)
I'm leaning towards options 1 or 2 right now, with option 1 being more likely due to the changes in 2.3 that will be coming out soon. So many decisions, so little time.

Inching closer to the complete set of gear for Alenrak.

I just finished the Warsong Gulch run that got me to having 50 marks of honor.

That gets him the final warsong marks he needs to get his complete pvp gear set. The next priority will probably end up being Arathi marks, as they are immediately accessible AND the ones I need the most of (at 110). I might even be able to get a piece or two from the Arathi requirements before I get 70.

The fun part is, Arathi weekend is coming up, and I need marks from there. I'm just not sure if I want to level to 59 before I go after them or not.

Decisions.

Grand Total: 215,362 Honor, 110 Arathi marks, 60 Alterac marks, 50 Warsong marks, 100 Eye of the Storm marks.

Just a wee bit expensive. Shame my personal best for honor was about 7k/day during Alterac Valley weekend. It's going to be VERY tedious.

Doing a gear gathering run for a toon that can't use the gear yet.

Alenrak is now working on getting a complete set of gear for when he needs to go raiding.

The grand total will come to over 200k honor and upwards of 110 marks of a given type.

Not exactly a cheap process, but it still needs to be done because there's crap all for boomkins in pve drops.
