Training a few things.

I've been working variants of Ice Harvesting in Eve for Phil. He's working towards being able to equip a second Ice Harvester Upgrade II (which may be a while. I need to figure out what's holding the CPU availability back).
Blake gets Mining Foreman level 5 Friday afternoon (around 4PM my time).
Dale starts his final stage for Iteron Mark V tomorrow (around 5:40PM my time).
Matt gets into his barge at the crack of "Oh My GOD" on Saturday (around 5AM my time).

No direction left now.

My main in Eve has completed cybernetics level 5, which means he can use the Highwall HX-2 implant. That leaves him with no primary plan to actually work on. I might just start working on the certificates, but that will probably wait until after EveMon gets them available as plan insertion.

My other two characters however have a bit more direction to follow.

22. Omber Processing IV (1 day, 23 hours, 54 minutes, 36 seconds)
Each mining ship from Navitas up to Hulk in a fresh miner plan generates a doubling in mining yield. With where I am, that means that my second mining ship will eventually catch up to my first.

I should probably work on getting a dedicated Iteron Mark V hauler set up. I managed to make up a skill plan for it that will take 30 days including core support skills (all the way up to +3 implants, since +4 implants will actually make the plan take longer). The additional support skills (salvaging and tractor beams) will take a total of 4 days or less after the main plan is complete.

About 46 days.

Good fun. I'll have freighter training on my main before I have industrial command ships on my alt. Oh well.

And don't bother with the showinfo links if you aren't using Eve's ingame browser.

Lots of mining.

Depending on the specialty crystals I use in my mining lasers, I can mine upwards of over 1700m³/minute. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Sunday, December 07, 2008

It's official.

The consistent ISK/day I can make in eve online given current market conditions is 40 million per fitted hulk.

I pull in on average about 1500m³ of ore a minute when going full tilt.

I can just imagine having THREE hulks pulling in that kind of coin. Doing up math, I'll probably hit 45-50 million/day by the end of the week. It's going to be nuts.

Shopping in eve.

I've got a bit of shopping to do for the immediate future for my characters in eve online.

There are three skills that I'm going to be starting within the next 12 hours or so that I don't have skillbooks for.

My support account is about 50 days away from his orca. I can get him an iteron v 24 days after that if I want, but I'm more likely to go after the training for +4 cybernetic implants to cut down the training time on other skills. I'm working on the +4 implants on my second mining account, so he's going to at least be partially helpful faster.

Mining at over 1500m³/minute is going to be sweet. More ore == more money == easier time keeping the accounts active for free.

The kind of asteroids it takes to make me...

Take more than 6 minutes before the asteroid goes boom.

50-60k unit asteroids of that type last for about 12-15 minutes. Typical asteroids last 3-6.

I made about 38 million mining today. Yield is up somewhere between 8% and 12% from yesterday (based on rough calculations).

Gonna be able to haul about 20k m³ on my second account early on in tomorrow's mining binge. Probably sometime before I actually start mining. Longer breaks between hauling back to the station means less worries about me being distracted.

I can hardly wait to get to the orca with its 120k-140k m³ combined total cargohold. It's going to make mining so much easier, especially since it basically flat out adds an additional 10% mining yield. With the right implant, there will be yet another 15% additional yield. It's going to add up quick.

And burnout has occurred.

I knew it was just a matter of time, but I've burned out of WoW to the point that I need to play something else.

I'm in Eve Online. If you want me to throw you a buddy program invite (21 day, new account only), e-mail me and I'll try to hook you up.

Please subscribe when you finish.

Now that I'm actually in Northrend

I've basically decided that my druid will be my first toon to get to level 80.

I haven't really touched my hunter yet, and my warlock has only really gotten his professions started.

With the way I'm focusing on toons that are earning money, I'm pretty much set when it comes to getting the money for higher-level mounts and such.

Having a guild vault to make the money disappear from my main wallets kinda helps though.

Powerleveling lower level toons will be interesting.

No chance in hell.

With wrath out tomorrow and Reken at 67, there's no chance in hell of him getting to 70 before the release.

Oh well.

Sunday, November 09, 2008

And a big jump.

Today I got Reken a full 2 levels worth of questing done, so instead of being 65, he's now 67. I have until this Thursday to get him to 70 before I need to start leveling one of my main toons (yay expansion pack). I can probably actually get it too (3 days, 2.5 levels, definitely doable, even with remembrance day in the middle of it).

Alenrak's Level 80 talent build (primary)
Chojiro's Level 80 talent build (primary)
Rhakeem's Level 80 talent build (primary)

The other toons I haven't decided on, so I'm just going to wing it for them.

One way or another, I'm going to have no free time this week.

Saturday, November 08, 2008

A few thoughts while I wait for the servers.

Seeing as how the authentication servers for WoW are down right now (who knows why), I decided to go over some things.

First, I'm still undecided as to what toon I'm going to use as my main in the expansion. My first two priority toons for getting to level 80 will be my druid and my hunter.

Second, I'm glad they made the change to the survival of the fittest talent. 6% reduced chance to take a critical hit means I have enough crit reduction for tanking without any defense or resilience on my gear. It lets me focus more on important statistics, like stamina, armor and agility.

Third, HOW THE HELL DID MY PALADIN BECOME BETTER GEARED THAN MY HUNTER?

Fourth, I'm glad I decided to get all my alt gear from pug runs. Trying to gear a secondary toon directly through a guild's main runs doesn't go over well with lootwhores being rampant.

Fifth, Comcast sucks.

Sixth, To the RIAA/MPAA and all the other companies and groups that think DRM is a good idea: WE DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO SPEND AN ADDITIONAL 3000$ EVERY 5 YEARS TO PRESERVE OUR MEDIA ACROSS DEVICES. DROP DRM BEFORE IT KILLS YOU!

Seventh, Comcast sucks.

Eighth, Net neutrality is the answer.

5 Days to Wrath.

'Nuff said.

Monday, November 03, 2008

Priest is 63 despite all claims to the contrary.

Since The WoW armory has been cranky lately, I would like to point out that I've gained almost 4 levels since its last update (this writing).

The chances of him being 70 before wrath are diminishing though.

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Another in outlands.

Reken has gotten himself into outlands. Now I'm up to five that are high enough to do quests there. As of this post, he's level 61, and will probably get to level 70 before he gets to the level 69 part of the guide I'm following.

There's going to be a LAN party at a buddy's place this saturday. Good fun that.

Here's hoping for everything working.

I'll do my windows repair install AFTER. Yay for slipstreamed disks.

Thursday, October 16, 2008

Yay for inscriptions.

I managed to get Reken's inscribing up into the outlands herbs before price gouging got that far in. Now that I'm on to outlands herbs, I can get to the current cap for skillups without any trouble.

From here, it's pretty much just minor glyph research, which means I need to poke around at some newbie areas occasionally to get the inks for it (probably only need a stack of herbs every couple of days).

Also got him to level 57. Gonna get him to outlands within the next week or so. Might actually have 5 level 70s before wrath comes out.

Sunday, October 12, 2008

Still going.

Reken, my priest, is still progressing through the levels (almost level 54 as of this writing).

My hope to have him in outlands before wrath of the lich king comes out will likely be fulfilled (since I have almost a month).

Now I just hope I can end up with enough of the right level herbs before I get that far up in inscriptions.

Sunday, October 05, 2008

And with Wrath of the Lich King coming within 5 weeks....

Reken is only level 48. If I actually take the time to hardcore level him, I can have him at level 70 before wrath comes out. With a fifth level 70, I don't know which is going to be my main in wrath endgame content (if I even see it in the first 6 months).

His herbalism will likely be high enough to farm herbs in northrend before wrath comes out (which is nice).

I've also got a friend that has enough starter-level herbs for me to get a good chunk of progress on inscriptions without having to farm herbs or deal with the "ooo shiny, new profession" market prices.

Also, when I get to the outlands herbs, I can just hop on Alenrak and go skettis tree farming. The poor trees don't get me below 60% health unless they bring a friend.

Monday, September 29, 2008

Still more progress, and a decision on professions.

Reken, my latest victim for leveling, is now almost level 45. Hopefully I can have him to 70 by the time Wrath of the Lich King comes out (Nov, 13, 2008).

I'm making him Herbalism/Inscribing. He already has herbalism up to about 250. I just want him over 300 by the time he hits 70.

Monday, August 11, 2008

The progress of toons.

Over the next little while, I will be doing cycles on my various toons, trying to powerlevel them via instance powergrinding. I will go through each toon until its rested bonus runs out, complete that particular instance run, then switch.

The cycles are going to be somewhat interesting, given the number of toons and their level range variances.

Thursday, August 07, 2008

And a fifth has begun.

I've started seriously working on a fifth toon to get to 70.

Reken is the victim of choice.

I probably did my toons backwards.

Sunday, June 15, 2008

Progress on a fourth.

I've been making a LOT of progress on my fourth toon to get to 70, Rhakeem. Right now he's 67 with about 50% completion getting to 68, and he's only just starting in on the Blade's Edge Mountains quests.

He's only supposed to be level 66 given the guide I'm following right now. I can probably run through a couple instances and get him some more exp and rep for areas like Lower City (with which I need pieces from the rep vendor)

Ah, pandemonium.

Saturday, February 16, 2008

Fun in Eve Online.

Starting tomorrow around 6PM my time, I'll be able to use the top-level first generation mining barge in Eve, The Covetor.

My mining yield with that barge will increase my current ore yield by about 50%.

The barge itself holds significantly more ore as well, which should mean fewer stopped mining lasers due to full cargoholds.

Here's hoping for fun and profit to get me a Hulk within a week or so.
